Hydrenolepis Grandis

H. grandis was first identified as a human parasite by Howard Von Troskka in 1834. Thought to be native to Central America, it migrated into the US from Mexico in the late 19th century and had infested a number of abandoned homes by the 1920s. Infection rose sharply during the Great Depression, but was greatly reduced in the years following.
